A simple one for those in the know (not me) who makes the nicest 15/18 or 20mm ECW figures ? |

this was my recent project
came down to 15mm essex , museum minis , old glory and matchlock -- would have added testudo but could only some of the cavalry – the infantry were too big
all the first 4 companies mentioned match very well .. i didn't get any museum minis cavalry . 20mm it comes down to tumbling dice and kennington in metal and call to arms in plastic . i would have done the entire project with call to arms plastics . but they didn't do any cavalry . |

Of those 4 15mm companies, I think matchlock is best and should soon be available again. Peter pig has a nice line in small 15mm. Testudo are nice but with limited poses and very big. Mike D |

Essex are nice figures, but limited poses. I prefer the more ragged look to my armies, not the single pose uniformity. Most of my troops are OG, with Essex and some older Minifigs mixed in for variety. Just don't ask how many times I ran a drill bit through my finger making holes for pikes. |

Thanks for the replies Never heard of Matchlock ( I am a thicky newbie )- who does ( or will do) those then ? also nice to hear I am not the only one who drills their finger when doing spears/pikes :-) |

Testudo were the ones I liked the most but I think they are out of production. |

'Never heard of Matchlock' Try Caliver Books. Matchlock are pretty good. |

Testudo (very good) but OOP. Peter Pig (very nice). They have army packs as well. The new OG as very good as well. I would go with PP. |

Caliver handles Matchlock, and since they have just purchased Minifigs the ecw should be coming back fairly soon. In the US Viking Forge carries some of the line. They have very good pics of each fig up on their site. They don't carry the whole line though. Mike D |
