Can anyone here comment on the quality of these figures? The couple of small photos on their website look quite good, and the variety seems extensive – 7 different mounted figures, each with up to 5 variants, for example – but if someone has seen them 'in the lead', all feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks in anticipation!

Assuming you mean the plains wars range then they are good figures. Like all Irregular Miniatures ranges they paint up much better than you may think possible when seeing them in the bare metal state.

Best bet is to give IM a ring and order a few samples. Irregular's speed of service is legendary.

They're not bad – the indians are better than some of the cavalry figures.
Their service is phenomenal – I once rang them around 4pm to complain that they'd missed sending me the stuff on the back of the page of my order – it arrived the next morning!

Ditto on the level of service, but there figures are considerably bigger than some others, especially Peter Pig, but you can make them work.

I've painted 1 cowboy sampe from this range.
