I have seen quite a few post about the subject, but I can't remember if we have had a poll on it. Anyway my poll suggestion is: What comes to mind when you see the term Pro Painted? 1) Something you are more likely to buy. 2) Something you are more likely to look at. 3) You like to LOL! 4) It's the same as looking at a car wreck. Help me out here folks. I think we need a few more responses to make a good poll. FWIW, I would rather dump all my paints down the drain then put that term on one of my auctions. |

Somebody who takes money for painting miniatures is a pro painter. He does not have to paint well. |

Why are there so many angry TMP'ers? I suppose I'm more interested in humorous responses. |

Why are there so many angry TMP'ers? They bought some miniatures from a Pro-Painter? |

I always thought it was a "lady of easy virtue" who painted models when she was not working

>I always thought it was a "lady of easy virtue" >who painted models when she was not working A pro painter is one who manages to keep her arms free, while on the job, to pick up some extra green for simultaneously painting up your space marines / napoleonics / whatever. I thought everyone knew this.. |

"I'm fifteen and I just figured out how to use spray paint." Or "Blocked in by my pet chimpanzee who suffers from cerebral palsy." I guess Pro Painted is a #3 or #4 for me. |

"Why are there so many angry TMP'ers?" So who was angry and how did you know? acarhj's answer was serious, but not mean in any way. I would pose another question-- why do people come to an open forum, ask a question, and then get upset when people answer it in a way they do not like? Just a question, NOT an angry retort. 8)= |

I often wonder about the term, "hand painted." This shows up on eBay a lot. |
rjabox | 05 Oct 2009 12:14 p.m. PST |
"Hand painted" – as opposed to what? I know what you mean. Now when they invent a machine that can paint as well as the Sascha Herms or Kevin Dallimores of the world that will be the day!!! |

Oh, I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I didn't realize that you folks still use that term to advertise your painting. |

They bought some miniatures from a Pro-Painter? And I am still spitting nails about it! My response, as Nazrat points out, is not meant to be mean. The term is a marketing gimmick, like "hand painted" mentioned above. You are a pro of course because you take money for what you do! You may or may not be good at it. Talent has nothing to do with it. |

"Oh, I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I didn't realize that you folks still use that term to advertise your painting." Ooo, somebody's playing hard ball and getting all clever trying to insult people that don't want to play. Nice try (not). 8)= |
