It now seems likely that he actually sailed through a temporal vortex

I hate when that happens. That's when the Freemasons show up and start hushing things up, when they aren't trying to hog all the credit.

History would be a whole lot simpler if every problem was attributable to a temporal vortex!

The rather odd background is explained in the previous battle report; I'm getting some practice for a competition and trying out the Picts against some Bk 2 DBA armies, but I have to construct these opponents out of a small group of Dark Age and early Medieval armies.
