Given the unknown nature of WAB: Divine Wind's status (rumor has it on the chopping block) and so many of the rules out there are for 15mm…

What do you think are the best set of rules for gaming Samurai warfare using 28mm miniatures? (non-skirmish)

Thanks!

and so many of the rules out there are for 15mm…

Why does this myth persist?

Rules are <<not>> size specific. We even had a poll

Try Chrysanthemum Throne by Chipco.

Oh, it may be available as a PDF download from Sabers Edge hobbies in Canada.

Connard… the "myth" in *my mind* persists because every set of non-skirmish rules I have looked into so far, state that they are primarily aimed towards multiple 15mm miniatures mounted to a base.

Even the Killer Katanas set of rules establishes that measurements are in line with 15mm miniatures with the caveat that they can be adjusted for smaller or larger scale miniatures.

BTW, I have no problem with adjusting for scale of miniature as with KK2 if unit's still "feel" and "look right" for larger battles using my individually mounted 28mm miniatures. :)

My comment wasn't an indictment of 15mm rules. :):):)

I suppose I should have worded my question differently:

"What rules for Samurai warfare do you best like to use with your 28mm miniatures?"

I've got a TS&TF variant for 28-mm Samurai Warfare from 1550-1615 called Sengoku (it also covers Sohei and the Imjin War in Korean). It's free under the The Sword & The Flame Yahoo Users group. Though I could send you copy of the rules if you wished.

If DW ever does come out – wouldn't this be a great price link

Hah! :) :) :)

Murmurs elsewhere indicate it has been dropped, but until it's official i'll attempt to keep my hopes up Dean. :)

There's also "Taiko!"…

Now, If only Chris Peers were to write a set…

A few of us will bve giving Taiko! a good workout this winter. So far it's not bad.

I too am a bit fed up with the WAB delay especially as I had tried getting in the book with our model range.

So to deal with it I'll be working on my own ruleset. Wether it goes anywhere or not is anybody's guess!

Taiko has some similarities to WAB, so you may like that one.

Brian Bradford has announced on the AsianWar Yahoo! group that he is down to 20 copies of Killer Katanas 2, of which 10 are going to eBay…

Rassilon02 Oct 2009 9:27 p.m. PST

Why no more Killer Katanas 2?

Long story. He hasn't had a good experience with folks using his research.

Thanks,

John
