OK, here are the Музыкантов / muzykantov / musicians and similar for Russian infantry, jager and grenadier regiments in 1812 year.

Total for three battalions:
39 x барабанщик / barabanshchik / drummer
6 x Флейтщик / fleytshchik / fifer (24 in the Leib-Grenadier regiment)
or 6-12 x валторн / voltorn / horn (Guard jagers regiments only, unoffical in other jager regiments)

In the regimental band (muzykantov) :
2 x валторны / voltorny / horns or bugles
+2 more voltorny for each award of "silver horns" for disctinction
2 x фагота / fagota / oboes
2 x кларнета / klarneta / clarinets
2 x флейты / fleyty / fifes or flutes
1 x барабан / baraban / (bass) drum

The Guard units had larger bands :
Preobrazhenskiy regiment – 40 instruments
Other Guard infantry regiments – 25 instruments

Plus whatever the shef of the regiment authorized and paid for, I am sure.

What were the standard(s) for other nationalities?

Thanks,

Frayer
