Another Speed-painted battalion – French this time to see if the technique works with grey – seems okay.

Still need to finish the base and tidy a couple of figures plus add a flag.

Your speed paint looks like my careful, arduous, touched up paint! Very nice.

So what is your "speed-Painting" technique?

Hi,

I always used to paint black undercoat and then use 3-shades of each colour.

These figures are:

- white undercoat
- block paint base colours neatly
- wash with Coat D'arms Super Shader black
- highlight faces and coats
- DONE

I can paint a battalion of 18 figures in about 3 hours doing it this way which is about 3 times faster than it used to take me.

Heres a link to my blog with pics of some of my WSS French more to follow

How i paint mine is

white undercoat
-Paint the faces and hands
-light Grey wash to uniform
-White highlight to uniform
-Paint leather work, woodwork and hair
-Paint boots and hat
-Paint Cuffs, sashes
-Paint Swords and barrels
-Watered down flesh wash on hands and faces, leather work, woodwork and hair.

Then i give them a light coat of the dip method which i find helps with white uniforms gets rid of the the figures looking 2D if you know what i mean.
