I'm on a roll with my camera and 20mm collection. These are the great old figures from 20 years ago and they still hold up in 2009.

Originally sold under Hotspur/MLR range as mid-war Panzer Grenadiers they are now mixed in with the late war German packs where they fit perfectly fine.

I remember buying some of those long ago at the Emperor's Headquarters in Chicago, back when it was brand new. They painted up very nicely. Nice figs, nice memories!

yes it was truly a sad sad day for the hobby when Dave Allsop passed away. I believe there was quite a bit of unfinished masters sitting on his desk that never saw the light of day. If nly they had been passed to Paul Barnshaw,
another sad loss. The Combat figures easily stand the test of time and I am always happy to paint them

I agree with the above posters. I also bought my first Combat figures from the Emperor's Headquarters. I found them at a early 1990s Cold Wars.

The figures capture the feel of WW2. They have 'grit' for lack of a better term.

Yup! "Grit" is a good word, Hrothgar! Quite a few ranges look good and are technically correct, but lack that "Je ne sais quoi." (Pardon my French!)
