We wrapped up our Campaign today, with General Joubert's recommended treaty becoming ratified on March 15th, 1800. Peace came without any side (French vs. Austrian) obtaining anything like a decided advantage.

This was the real-time, web-based, automated extreme fog-of-war campaign. As can be seen in the final dispositions, some of the armies were nowhere close to each other and had no real clue where their opponents were while others were right in the thick of it, maneouvering desperately and decisively.

Overall, it was a success. I had fun anyway and look forward to running another in a few months.

The various AARs and summaries can be found at murat.ca/NB/campaign_ii.htm

The games were played using 15mm Napoleon's Battles.

Not everyone got to grips but we got a good quantity of interesting miniatures battles out of the slugfest. Some of the players want to start another one right away and some never want to hear of it again, I'm sure. :)

Excellent summary thanks malcolm. Looks like the players really enjoyed themselves. I've wanted to do something similar for '96 ever since I read "Road to Rivoli"

That looks like a fascinating system and one of the most realistic yet sensible routes I've seen for creating a believable campaign environment.

I note in your manual you say its not designed to be transferrable, but I'd very much like to adapt some of it for a campaign we're looking at running next year at our club.

I'd love to talk to you in more detail as to how it all works, would you mind if I emailed you to discuss this?

Thanks again! Sorry my only battle turned out to be so one sided grin

Sure, Red Fox, email away. malcolm_mccallum@hotmail.com

While I'm at it, I should state that while the maps are flawed, they are also freely available to anyone looking for such a map system for campaigning on.

Email sent Malcolm, many thanks. I should think there'll be a lot of people who wished they knew about this.
