Love the Garrison foot and skirmisher. The horse archer looks fantastic too. Was the horse archer done by Darren Greenaway also? Looks like his style, as evidenced by the pictures. Now
where are the T'ang? Empires of the Dragon is out already

No, the horse archer was done by Sandra Garrity, as were the cataphracts (both mounted and dismounted). I'm still waiting for the painter on the T'ang. (It's not Steve Dean.) Once I get the pictures I will put the T'ang up for sale. |

Those are some fantastic figures, the Tibetans have been a favorite of mine. Nepalese allies would be nice. |

Good stuff, hard to picture Tibet as agressive and expansionist. Liking the minis and painting a lot. |

Surely this is the best thing to happen this month. The question is: will I ever be able to paint all the lead that I buy? |

Good stuff, hard to picture Tibet as agressive and expansionist. Amazing what effect a different religion can have. The Bon religion was as macho as anything you'd see in an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, seeing the world as a savage she-demon that has to be held down, hand and foot, by Tibetan manliness in order for sanity to rule. (I'm sure we're all quietly nodding in agreement at that general notion. ). That said, even as buddhism goes the Tibetan branch is rather butch, a hearkening back to the old days when the Tibetans were basically kicking the snot out of everyone they could get their hands on, even conquering parts of T'ang China. Eventually though they had their deluge moment (like the Polish deluge, I mean) and though they were able to defeat all comers, Tibet was eventually spent, and fragmented in the later 9th to early 10th C. But for a good 3-400 years there Tibet was a great regional power, sitting astride the Silk Road. And yes, based on the current situation, that is interesting indeed. |

Thanks Rudy, I actually have four armies either released, partly released or in development for that list (I see you edited your message to remove the Field of Glory reference): 1) Tibetan (available) 2) Kofun/Nara Japanese (partly available, the rest being made) 3) T'ang Chinese (finished and almost complete with the painting process, for a release probably later this week) 4) Three Kingdoms Korean (in development as Baekje allies of the Kofun, but of course will be able to stand alone as well, as any Three Kingdoms army) So the book release was pretty exciting for me too! It would have been four armies, but there is no Emishi army list. These I was going to make for the Kofun as well, but I may skip them as there is no list for them! Or just make two poses for DBMM players (for FoG, they are "Emishi or Be," and I will definitely be making Be archers). |

Khurasanminiatures, Off topic, but anything happening on the Early Achaemenid Persian front? |
| khurasanminiatures | 28 Sep 2009 4:59 p.m. PST |
Yes delbruck, there is! The sparabara are done -- sculpted and cast, and I have the figurines. They are just awaiting painting so I can start adding codes to the line. They are in the queue behind the T'ang and some scifi stuff. Three poses of archers, three of spearmen, two different large wicker shields (separate from the men), and the spears (with round butts) are also separate. Not a huge rush to add them, as I am still awaiting the sculpts of the immortals. I've seen partly completed greens so far. My slight preference is to wait for the immortals to release the first batch, but that might be a while, so we'll see. After the immortals the sculptor will work on the horse dollies, then the Saka Haumavarga foot, then the various Persian and Haumavarga Saka cavalry and mounted high command. I may make infantry command as well, not sure (people absolutely demand them but when you make them, no one buys them). It's going to be a gradual thing, I think, as the sculptor is preoccupied with his own company, but the models are lovely and well worth the wait IMHO. |
