I have been in correspondence with Matthew of WarTime Miniatures in Australia concerning creating a new 28mm GNW line. As many of you know, he is doing a 28mm SYW Hanoverian line as part of a build up project. Matthew is very interested and, if he goes forward with it, the figures will be of high quality and the line will be extensive and accurate, covering all major combatants. In order to go forward, he will need a showing of interest, so if you are interested, please let him know, with an estimate of how many you would be willing to buy. We are still in the planning stages, so there is no financial commitment at this time. I will commit to about 500 infantry and 200 cavalry. You can assume there will be infantry, cavalry and artillery of Sweden, Russia, Saxony and Denmark. I'm not sure if this request violates any TMP rules. If so, I apologize in advance. I am not providing Matthew's contact info for the same reason, but you can find it on the web. I have no affiliation with Matthew. I am just a guy trying to find a good GNW line. From previous threads, there appears to be frustration with the lack of a good, complete GNW range. This is a chance to remedy that. |

I saw this last night and didn't comment then. The problem is many of us have already invested in GNW lines that are not complete and may never be complete. Would I like a complete well sculpted GNW line? Yes! Will I ever purchase an incomplete line again? No! Will I commit to purchasing? No! I have too many partial projects as a result of sculpters and manufacturers losing interest, funds, customers, the house, whatever to bother buying any incomplete lines ever again. Especially because there are so many great lines, periods and projects available that are 90-100% complete at this point. Good luck to you! |

Some advice from someone who has long had an interest in the campaigns involving the Swedes v. the Saxons/Poles and has pretty much given up on it: 1) Provide a link to show examples of his previous work (it need not necessarily be his website – I can understand why you didn't want to do that) so that prospective customers can gauge the quality of his work for themselves. 2) Ditto something that shows his commitment to completing ranges; unfortunately this is a period where eagerly-awaited ranges have stalled for various reasons in the past, in both 15/18mm (Dixon and Eureka) and 25/28mm (Musketeer). 3) Map out a potential schedule (covering at least the initial releases and those planned for the subsequent 12 months) to give prospective customers an idea of the time frame for getting all elements of any particular army. |

DRDHauser and Super: I share your frustration with the inability of some (all?) manufacturers to complete GNW lines. This is why I am exploring this option. I, too, don't want to invest in another GNW line unless I am confident it will be reasonably complete. That's why I vowed not to buy any Musketeer infantry until the cavalry came out (a wise thing, in retrospect). At this point, I think all they are looking for is an idea of the level of interest if they were to do a complete line. The SYW Hanoverians, when they come out, should be a good gauge of quality and completeness. If they do as complete a range of Hanoverians as planned, this will be a good indicator that they would follow through on a GNW line. So I guess the question is: if someone were to produce a complete, high-quality 28mm GNW line, would you be interested in it? |

if someone were to produce a complete, high-quality 28mm GNW line, would you be interested in it? Yes, when it's complete. They would score points by being compatible with MusketeerMinis. |

>>>The problem is many of us have already invested in GNW lines that are not complete and may never be complete.<<< That's for sure. And do you realize we are now into years, not months, since a certain line has been added to? This, despite recurring assurances that GNW are WIP
>>>if someone were to produce a complete, high-quality 28mm GNW line, would you be interested in it?<<< Most, and very, definitely. Unfortunately that seems a big "if". >>>Yes, when it's complete. They would score points by being compatible with MusketeerMinis.<<< Major points would be scored for achieving both "complete" and "MM compatible". |

Ditto to everything said above about all of the problems that The Company Who Must Not Be Named has had in JUST PROVIDING THE MINIMUM BASICS to his GNW range. I'm not buying until the sculptor demonstrates a commitment to his range. Once he does, I'm all in. |
