They're only a couple of quid now in toy stores, they look nice, partcularly the Slitheen cruiser, and the ship which comes with Captain jack.

What can I do with them ? I think they'd look good with 2mm or 6mm as large ships, and maybe as a fighter with 15mm.

Suggestions ?

(Nice ones by preference)

I use the Judoon ships as power relays/outlet or some such gizmos (objective marker. Use them with 28mm – look pretty good.

That's a good idea – and if I got several they could be the "nodes" on some sort of force field defence system. Nice one !

I'm still trying to get the SS Penthalien?…(the one that used a 'sunscoop' on a living sun to get fuel and got most of the crew 'BURNED'…?

I use the 'space pig' space ship as a space liner for my SFB ships eg save the ship from pirate attack.

The SS Madame de Pompadour I use as a space station for SFB.

As for the Judoon ship, I actually use it as Judoon ship!!! I know it's vastly out of scale, but I just call a scout ship or similar. As stated above makes a good objective marker too.

I was looking at these 2 ships in particular and thinking they must be able to stand in for somthing (more expensive). Of course I could use them for fighters in various ship-to-ship rulesets, but I was trying to think of something they could replace. They didn't seem to have an obvious use for OGRE miniatures, and didn't fit in with my concept of LandIronclads for example.

Didn't want to just bring a bagfull home and bung them in the cupboard!

Where have you found them at £2.00 GBP I'd be interested in grabbing a few

Norrins24 Sep 2009 2:04 p.m. PST

Sainsburys have them for £3.00 GBP each.

My local sainsburys had them for £2.00 GBP

At that sort of price, most of them are very much worth getting, as they originally sold for £10.00 GBP or so.
The Judoon ship makes a great Bulk Carrier or Colony Transport for FT (or any other starship game).
Jack's Chula ship would make a 15mm shuttle or fighter (or a ground-attack ship?) at a pinch, and the Slitheen cruiser makes a good alien lander (a small one in 15mm or a much bigger one in 6mm!).
The Sanctuary Base rocket would do for pulp or VSF, but too small for 15mm except as a fighter – probably best used for 6mm.
The Pompadour can serve as all manner of space installations – power satellite, repair dock etc etc.
About the only one that you can't do much with is the Tardis… except, of course, use it as a Tardis!

You could always use the Tardis as a police phone box.

I can still recall the time I first saw one out the back of Wetherby police station, and had to perform a "double-take" just to make sure it was real.

Having said that, I don't suppose there is much call for 50's and 60's pulp wargaming.

Folks, I am interested in getting my hands on a Slitheen cruser. As I am in the states this is rather difficult and expensive on Ebay.

If anyone over in the British isles is interested in a trade, I'm sure we can work something out. Please PM me. Like many gamers I have acquired a lot of stuff over the years :)

Jon's suggestions are good. Other than 'get in & fly off the board' pieces, the actual ships won't be getting stats in my game. Vehicles are covered, but spaceships are a bit big (although there's a saucer is in one of the 'Dalek Invasion of Earth' scenarios). The last thing I want is it turning into an ever increasing arms race of huge vehicles like 40K.

At £2.00 GBP they're cracking prices if you have a use for them – almost worth it just for the individual (and exclusive I think) figures as well.

Found the Judoon and the Pompadour on the shelves in High Wycombe. Shown as £3.00 GBP on the shelf byt £2.00 GBP when rung up at the till.

Oh well – you guys have convinved me I should get some.

But they only had the Judoon and Pompadour left !

He who hesitates …..ends up with 3 Judoon ships to be used as SF scenery (I'm going to stick them to a CD and terrain the base!).

And they were £2.00 GBP each.

Wow – the Judoon ship unscrews at the middle – the landing legs are stored inside it.

But the two seperate parts would make good 1/300th or 1/900th scenery – one part would need a bit of work to disguise where it had been taken apart.

Neat !

Oh, and they are only £1.00 GBP now…but they onl had the pompadour in my local store.

Even I couldn't resist at that price. Ohn well, something else to shove into my TARDIS (aka gaming cupboard)
