I am considering purchasing some of the Battle Honors 25mm French Second Empire figures , but would like to see them (or at least get some comments on them) before I do so. Any help in this would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Peter

I have some of the Austrian infantry and they are very nice. They are close in size to the Foundry FP range.

Thanks, Doc Ord.

Is the scuplting style also broadly similar to Foundry? My intended opponent has Foundry Prussians and French.

Sculpting style is similar although the Perrys did the Foundry FP range and they really captured the look of the period. I would say detail and anatomy is good.Don't forget Castaway. He has some very nice FP.Check out the Jackson Gamers website. They have some pics of 25mm FP games and have a little bit of everything in their armies.

I have posted some pictures of Battle Honours Austrians vs Foundry figures here:

(I have also compared them with Helion and Baker Company in the same post).

For the French I have Zouaves (good) and Guard (excellent). They compare well in sculpting to Foundry, size very slightly smaller. IMHO they mix well. Remember in these pictures the Austrians are crouching forward and the Foundry figure is upright.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Thanks for posting these, the Battle Honors lack of pictures has always been an absolute pain in the nuts as their figs are excellent for the most part.

I will be finishing the Austrians in the next couple of weeks. I agree-I have never found any other pictures of them and I reckon sales would treble if they were available!

Well I'll certainly get some and also some French after reading the comments above..
I've never actually seen the French figures-now surely they would sell by the shed full, especially to people like me who have lots of Foundry French already.

I use the Battle Honors Light Infantry and Zouaves in my Maximilain Adventure collection. In my opinion, they fit in perfectly with the Foundry figures that make up the bulk of the collection. The Maximilian figures, however, were not scupted by the Perry's. You can see some of the painted French Light Infantry in the photo's section of the Maximilian yahoo group:

Cheers Nick -my first sighting!
I've been very impressed with the WW1 and 2 figs that I seen from BH.
