I took a few shots of AB and Fantassin late war Germans for comparison.

Close enough in my opinion.

Does anybody have pictures of AB, Fantassin and plastic Valiant minis together? If not, could some kind soul take some? I'd like to get some other poses for my Brits, Yanks and Germans and perhaps get some Soviets to fight on the Eastern Front too. That would be a big help, thanks.

No pics, but my Valaints are way out of scale with my Fantassin. I use the valiants with some 1/60 armor that I picked up.

On the whole I like Fantassin but their helmets look more like WW1 style to me.

I've seen the Valiants next to the Fantassin and I agree with aercdr – they dwarf the 1/72 and look closer to "true" 25mm to my eyes.

why why why did Valiant do that ? I will never be able to understand it. they basically re-invented the hard plastic miniature market (for WWII) and decided to go WAY out of scale from anything else – as it is, I've gotten two of everything they've put out just because they are innovative, the poses are great and the ability to customize is entertaining – but if they were in line with AB/Fantassin scale wise – I can honestly say I would have gotten 5 boxes of each and probably never purchased the same amount of AB again (assuming they ever put out more WWII). Same with Fantassin, which would have become my "fill in" figures.

PeterH,
I agree. As soon as I found out they were incompatible with my existing collection I avoided them. Why make something you can't use with anything else?
