We have firmed up our Watch Your Six! game for Tactical Solutions 2009 (October 9, 10, 11, 2009 at Spokane Valley, WA -- game will be played on the 11'th). We will be doing a high level bombing run using a rules variant for this unique kind of mission.

In essence the bombers don't move at all unless they are disabled in some way. The ground moves under the bombers.

The single seat aircraft have limited time and opportunity to engage. It sometimes takes quite a bit of time to engage the bombers and, (based on one play test game), depending on the damage you take during your first pass, you will be lucky to get a second pass at the bombers – or more to the point, you may not be very enthusiastic about a second run (quite historical by the way).

The bombers have performance advantages at high altitudes relative to the intercepting single seat aircraft and the bomber's defensive formation can pose a significant challenge to the single seat aircraft.

The scenario will feature six Ca.3 Caproni Bombers (all scratch built by Sheldon Olds) returning from a bombing run on an Aegean island radio station. Austro-Hungarian single seaters will be the featured foe.

If you have a fetish for the Italian front, you won't want to miss this!

Hope to see you all there!

I live on the other coast, so I won't be there, but that sounds like a fun game.

I am on the other side of the Atlantic so I will not be able to come… but what are the Imperial and Royal forces doing in the Aegean? You are confusing Aegean with Adriatic pheraps?

Dear Arrigo,

My bad. You are correct. Should be the Adriatic.
