link OK, they are nice figures. The box quantity is a bargain. But, what unit size are they thinking with 38 figures in a box? From the contents, it's clear that 2 regiments are intended, but who has 19 figure units? Why not 36 figures, or even 48? I will probably buy some at Fall-In, and will find a use for the "left over" figures, but I am just wondering what the rationale is for 38 figures? Cramming a mold as full as possible? |

Maybe they assume you'll chuck a couple of the Hey Steve's! |
Extra Crispy | 21 Sep 2009 7:32 a.m. PST |
Because that's how many figures fit on one mold? |

Hey, Steve! These shouldn't have any "Hey Steve!"s. John, it's so that you can add a pack of eight, and have a unit of 46. Sheesh. Also note that there are ten figures in a command pack, but only eight command figures in a boxed set: link Allen |

Because it will make you but one more box so you can fill on your regiments with that missing figure! |

because you can swap out 2 figures and still have 36 figure units |

I don't see this as much of a problem with ACW, where the same basic uniform works for most units. Extras can go into other units, even if I mostly paint them myself. I do very much wish, though, that we could get the painted AWI, and I see that as a potential problem area. I need a regiment of british in yellow facings, and have put off buying or painting in anticipation of buying 2nd ed. OG painted. I use 36 figure battalions. Not sure what I'll do with those extras, unless I can paint the facings a different color. |

John, Buy them and give me all the extras. I'll give them a nice home, I promise. |

Extra Crispy is likely right. I inquired as to why OG15s puts two sets of cmd in a bag of 16 Imperial Guard cavalry
made no sense to me. Their reply: We got this line of figures from someone else and that's how many are in the mold. Me: Ahuh, well, that is still kinda dumb but practical for you I guess. Cheers, The Bandit |

Think of it as a unit of 36 with 2 free troopers. |

Maybe if I use Professor Moriarty's insights into the binomial theorem I can come up with a formula to get the most economic units, using the blisters as a new variable. |

Don't even get me started on the insane way OG15 packages their OG and BH ACW figures! I find the 25mm ACW boxes work out just fine for how I would base a regiment. |

Gosh am I the only one who knows the answer to this? It is really very simple. You have to buy 12 boxes to get 24 units of 19 figures. Gosh you guys are pretty dense some times. VR James Mattes |

At the prices they charge, who cares if there are 38 vs. 36 figs, you can throw two of them away and it still works out to be cheaper than anyone else's AWI stuff. |

I'm still ticked at them for their 1/2400 "Trafalgar" packaging. They're very reasonably priced for what you get, yes, but maybe I don't WANT $70 USD worth of British ships at one go. |
