I am currently assembling a UK Armd Regt, utilizing Armourfast models. This Regt is to be employed in NWE (44-45). Should I use the M4 or the M4A2 as my standard tank? Obviously I will also be employing the Armourfast Sherman Firefly's within this Armd Regt. |

M4s would be OK as they were used (and some became Fireflys as well). The Hat Firefly shown is in fact a 1C so mixing the two should be OK. Damon. |

M4A2 was the model supplied in the highest numbers but M4s as well ( but you might want to cut the sandguards off ). Very few M4A3s. |

did the British use the turret mounted HMGs on their sherman tanks – can't find any pictures with them fitted? cheers |

I recall reading that, certainly in 11th Armoured Division, they removed the 50cals from their Shermans & passed them over to the Carrier Platoons & Half Tracks for the Rifle Brigade infantry to give them a little more firepower |

I believe many of the British Shermans in NW Europe were Sherman Vs, which would be M4A4s. That's what the Airfix model is supposed to be. I don't know if Armourfast makes it. |
