Are there any good books on the Mongols vs. Saracens during the Crusades period? The only thing that I can find is short references in books about the Crusades. |

Chambers is good. Also Rene Grousset's "The Empire of the Steppes". More recently, Peter Jackson's "The Mongols and the West". You might also be interested in the account of Adh-Dhababi, in: PDF link Allen |

Wow – Shurite7 could give you a list of books that wouldn't quit! Specifically I've got Morgan – The Mongols; Mongols and Mameluks – Amitai-Preiss; History of the Mongols – Bertold Spuler; The Mongols we call the Tartars – Carpini; The Secret History of the Mongols; historical fiction Until the Sun Falls by Holland and there are many more on the crusades aspect which are not as specific on the Mongol involvement. Loads of papers on line if you have access ti the services. Did you have a specific period or Crusade in mind? |

"The Devils Horsemen" is superb, reading it was a life changer for me, the whole section of my library covering the Mongols orginated from that event. |

The two instances that I was referring to came from mentions in one of Nicolle's books. One battle was won by each side. I don't remember which crusade it was, reading about the crusades is new to me. My main interest to this point has been samurai and warrior monks.Doug Larson and I were involved in a thread about samurai and hospitalers, and I decided to do some reading on the crusades and have bought four books to this point. |

The mamluk-ilkhanid war by Amiti-Preis (spelling?) is one of the single best military books I have ever read, though it can be a bit pricey. |
