I have hundreds of 28mm figures, but I've never questioned any of them about their religious beliefs … grin

You have to look *very* closely.

Also, Foundry Canaanite range is perfect for Hebrews of Chariot period. Ral Partha has an excellent range of Hyksos that can also be early Hebrews. Essex has few Canninites and Syrians.

"Canninites "

What the heck are they? …. or do you mean Canaanites?

aecurtis Fezian20 Sep 2009 7:19 a.m. PST

Mike, Google "Canninites" and you will form a very clear picture--of folk that type "Canninites".

For example, from:

link

"Well its interseting isn't it Muslim's masscaring unbelievers and describing Christians as Pigs and Jews as apes is on par with Christians derided the priests in the Temple and israelites attempted to destroy the Canninites. What he forgets to mention is that their are no longer any temple priests as the temple was destroyed in 70AD. As for the Canninites their kingdom was destroyed in approximately 1200BC and was originally founded in c6500BC. So as an Australian I am very concerned of the effects that the Temple priests and Canninites who might want to seek vengence for these percieved injustices"

Newline Designs (28mm) and RAFM (25mm) for Maccabees.
Neither line is exceptional. The Newline figures are typical of their style. Other generic figure types can be added in. The RAFM's are small old school 25's and are cheap. Neither range is complete for Maccabees, but conversions can be made for phalangites.

But was Shipka asking about Maccabees? He asked about Jews, on the ancients boards, but I can't divine his specific intent from that.

He could mean Hebrews "of Chariot period". He could mean Maccabean Jews. He could mean Jews of the Great Revolt. Or something else.

And of course, we've discussed all those possibilities in numerous threads in the past, so a simple look through the archives would have precluded everyone having to toss out what they *think* is wanted.

And both Newline's (now SHQ) and RAFM's *are* complete ranges for the Army of the Sons of Light; it's those darn army list writers who insist on including guerrillas! evil grin

Just Fabulous Figures does a range of Catamites, if that's any help, they are about 23mm but I think the size differential is deliberate.

If he's talking about Maccabean figures, or figures for the Revolt, he could have some fun with the WF Numidians. Not perfect, but usable, I imagine.

What if they are for the Peoples Front of Judea or the Judean Peoples Front?

And what figures can be used for Brian himself or the crack suicide squad?

The Miniature Design Studio`s ones what period are they for..?

colin knight21 Sep 2009 2:54 a.m. PST

In my view they are (educated guess as evidence scarce) for King Saul period into Assyrian and Babylonian and possibly later.

I've not seen them yet, but gather that they are rather earlier.
