Hi All,
I am about to start painting my Canadian Micro armour and would like suggestions for the following colours, as shown in the "Armoured Acorn" plates.

FS 36081 Black
FS 340098 Khaki Drab
FS 34172 Green
FS 30166 Red Brown
FS 34258 Light Green
FS 30117 Light Brown
FS 30215 Tan
"Leopard Factory IR resistant (Olive?) Green"

Also what colours are being used in Afganistan if different
would be nice too.

Thanks

IIRC, the Leopard 2A6s are painted in standard NATO tricolour, while the LAV-IIIs are painted in a Medium Green colour (Testors Medium Green/Vallejo Russian Green/Tamiya NATO Green are close matches for this colour).

I know on earlier deployments, the Coyotes were painted in a desert sand colour (Vallejo Iraqi Sand), but I'm not too sure about other vehicles.

Make sure that you give every vehicle a good coating of dust.

Out of curiousity, what models are you using for LAV-IIIs?

At this stage I'm building elements of 4th & 5th Brigades, 1st Canadian Mech Div late 80's. Mainly using C-in-C and GHQ but will have some Scotia and Skytrex to fill in the gaps. When (/if) I do the LAV's it will probably be C-in-C to match the AVGP's and Leopards I have already. My question re Afghanistan was more general interest than a plan to do a desert version.

My planned Mid'East army is going to be Jordan in the 1980's with various additions to play 73 onwards.

The 'Leopard Green' was the standard Bundeswehr camouflage colour 'Gelbgrun' or 'Yellow-Green'.

My apologies – that colour is correctly described as 'Gelboliv' or Yellow-Olive.

Leopard 1 went to the stan in flat army green factory colour with no cam paint.
