Just got to look at the release version of this. The plastics being used are *much* better than the first run of demo kits were. A harder plastic all around. That makes the glue options a bit better as well.

Cant find this at my local shop:(

Farstar14 Oct 2009 10:56 a.m. PST

In the Phillipines? Not too surprising given that the principles of the company are the same people who ran WizKids and FASA. Very US centered bunch who won't really think about international distribution until they "know" they have a hit.

Farstar15 Oct 2009 10:36 a.m. PST

Hrm. A couple of the locals have bought into this and are noting more than a few mismatch errors between model needs and models supplied. Be prepared for a few "wait, WHAT?!" moments.

I guess that's the CMG aspect of the game.

What bugs me is that the miniatures in the boosters come in sealed packets, and some of them are empty – supposedly by design.

Thornhammer27 Oct 2009 2:57 p.m. PST

Wait, what?

Empty by design?

Can anyone clarify?

Major Mishap28 Oct 2009 11:48 a.m. PST

Its just the packaging methods, they come in strips of 4 'pockets' but some units only requite 3 models, so you get an empty pocket – nothing untowards.

That is just WRONG!

If I purchased a box and opened it up and there were four pockets, and minis in all four, and then opened my next booster and had minis in three and an empty pocket, I'd be taking it back to the shop and complaining that I had a faulty box.

Exactly my point, particularly since they went so far as to seal some (but not all) of the empty pockets.

I know that they can do three pockets without the extra empty fourth, because some of their minis come like that!

Oh well, it's just a nuissance when it's first encountered. Once you've opened a bunch of boxes its not so surprising any more.

Major Mishap29 Oct 2009 11:20 a.m. PST

I can't belive that people are whining about an extra bit of poly in a box, is life really that hard? The contents are clearly stated on the box of the maximum number of mini's are inside.

momoiro kakaricho29 Oct 2009 2:16 p.m. PST

Not to make a huge issue of it, but the figures come in packets of one, three, four, and five – for some reason, some of the packets of four only hold three figures which could lead you to assume that something is missing if you did not receive the maximum number of figures.

Its like opening a carton of eggs with only 10 eggs and two empty slots – you expect something to be in those slots.

It's not whining Major Mishap … it's confusion.

This product doesn't interest me (scale is all wrong IMHO), so I'm not a potential customer. And if a box said "Contents is 5 miniatures" and there were five inside, then I wouldn't care if there were 10 pouches, half of them empty, because I got my five.

But if the number of minis varies, then there's no way to know if you got what you were supposed to get, if the box contains empty pouches.

Still quite excited about this – but still haven't seen anything in the flesh. Is there a European release date ? Dare one hope that it'll be on show at Salute 2010 ?

Major Mishap25 Jan 2010 12:26 p.m. PST

It's been on sale for a few months now, at least since SELWG where I picked it up – ruddy good game to!

cooey2ph27 Jan 2010 7:38 p.m. PST

Saw this already on the shelves here in Metro Manila. The saleslady of the store said they came in December. No idea though how it's going but there isn't much going in the way of promotions or demos. A few hobby shows and toy shows are coming these next months and I'll see if the game makes an appearance there.

cooey2ph27 Jan 2010 7:48 p.m. PST

Just a quick update. A peek at the local gaming store's sched shows that 2 shops hold demo games for Arcane Legions by schedule. The game may be picking up cuz there's a lot of talk about army building.
