Black Tree figs are great. They run on the big side of things. The problem is order fulfillment in the USA. They have acknowledged the fact that my order is late (two months ago) and I am going on 10 months -- still waiting for the majority of my order. mjc |

The figures are very good
.the service for the past 4 years has been horrible; I'd like to know what the sod happened! |

I got them faster when I was in Japan, going FPO. I ordered in late August and am still waiting. |

I LOVE the miniatures but I got mine before all the drama! good luck guys! |

Good miniatures, but horrible order fulfillment in the USA. You might try ordering from the UK if you really want them. |

I'll echo the comments above. I'm also in the US. I really liked the figures I got (Celts, Ancient Germans, and some HYW figures.) Mine "only" took 2 months. Not nearly as bad as some of the other stories I've heard. Still, they're very nice figures, great price. I've been considering another order for a long time, but I'm just worried I'll be one of those "waiting 10 months" people. :/ |

Great figs generally, if they bother to send them to you. |

Some of the ranges are great; others dreadful. Quality of design can vary within a range, too (for instance I like most of their celts, but the chariots are pants). Value is generally very good. Delivery in the UK is not as bad as the US, but any order is a bit of an "act of faith". |

My last order took only a couple or three weeks to fulfill, which unless I deal with someone like Gripping Beast (who are a quick as racing snakes) is about par for the course. I did have one that went awry in the past, however, so it is very up and down. It appears that the problem isn't helped by the UK and US groups supplying on another. If all your order comes from the US OR the UK, you're all right. It's if it needs bits from both you've got trouble. The Pictish infantry ranges are very good (I like them, anyway), as are the Saxons. Since I've got quite a lot of these, I feel able to comment. I've got only odd examples of any other ranges, so don't feel as willing to rate these: if I've got the one set of winners or ringers, I don't want to drop anyone else in it. Generally though the standard of sculpting and moulding is high, and the number of variations in poses is good. The figures mix well with Newline, Gripping Beast and Renegade, I think. |

There WW2 Russians are very nice, forming the core of my force. The guns are slightly "heroic" proportioned when compaired to Artizan or BAM, but match well with the westwing SHS minis. You would need to realy be looking to spot this though on the table top. The range is very deep for these guys and i like painting the minis as well, they have a lot of character. I have never had a problem with delivery times, my only complaint is there was a mismolded mortar part in one of my orders, i emailed them to request a replacement part and never heard back. With the price in mind i would order from them again, but maybe not if i was in a hurry

cosmickanga: What exactly does this mean? link Are they gone? |
| Warlord | 18 Sep 2009 6:19 a.m. PST |
Well, I hope not and I hope they can pull it together, they do have one of the most comprehensive lines out there and it is good items. Like I said before I ordered my stuff years ago when they were a booming company and I got hundreds of their minis and I love them! I would like to get some of their current items but with all the stuff going on I just don't know. I know companies go through tough times and I wish them luck, there is no telling what is really going on but it is obvious they are struggling. So if they are reading this, keep your chin up guys, people like your stuff and get you satisfaction rate with your customers up and at least communicate what you can. You have some good stuff and folks will buy it but if you get your act together. Good luck! Warlord |

Warlord: It means that Black Tree Design Ltd has been dissolved and the company cannot legally trade as Black Tree Design Ltd. It is now merely trading as Black Tree Design by all appearances. What it does mean is the business probably had another of its little hiccups – hiccups that IIRC have previously seen the passing of Harlequin and Icon

I live in Belgium, and i must say that my orders with BTD have been very slow too, which is very surprising as mail usually takes two days between UK and Belgium. I still have some items pending
Cosmickanga, does that mean that BTD is bankrupt ? That would explain why they made this huge sale. Anyone has got more informations ? Hope it is not as bad as it sounds, as their range is very nice. |

Seems to have been one of the most cursed ranges in history. Previous owner talked huge. offered me a job then claimed 'brain injury' as an excuse for not delivering
seriously. still seems to be caveat emptor under new owners. shame because lots of goodies in range |

Exactly how many owners has this company passed through under various names, thinking about it? Up to half a dozen? |
| Rhino Co | 22 Oct 2009 8:44 a.m. PST |
received them and they are great
