Just came across Grand Manner's range of 28mm Napoleonic Spanish buildings, and was wondering who produces the equivalent for Italian towns and villages for the Napoleonic period
? Cheers Paul |

link Our Spanish/Mediterranean/Caribbean buildings would work for more coastal areas and some interior buildings (specifically the smaller buildings.) |

Look at the Italeri kits, Country House, Counry House with Porch and the show stopping Church. Nominally 1/72, they work well with 28mm (see the Kapiti Fusilers website for photos). A lot cheaper than most terrain out there and they adapt well for conversions. |

Snowcat, IMHO there are no equivalent buildings in 28mm. They will work well for Italy! Buy the Grand Manner ones. I did!! cheers, rob |

Thanks guys. I must admit I was wondering how much, if any, difference there would be between many of Grand Manner's Latin/Spanish buildings and Italian ones
Will also check the Italeri kits and pix as recommended (although the scale does concern me – I'd rather they be a little on the big side than small). And will look through the relevant ones from Brigade. This is for Bonaparte's Italian Campaign BTW. Cheers! |

They are big kits. Seriously, they work well with most 28's. |

Hardly anybody does true Italian buildings (I can say this having looked for them in both 15mm and 28mm for some time). Most firms make "Mediterranean" buildings, but the architectural style and types of building differ quite a lot between Spain, southern France and northern Italy. There is one UK company that makes a large church with a lot of steps leading up to the front doors, a rectory/large house and a workshop/small house; all in resin, but 20mm rather than 28mm (they are extremely good, though, to the extent that I have considered using them for 15mm). All have lift-off roofs and, IIRC, the church lifts off its base to reveal a crypt. Sadly, I can't recall the name off-hand, but they attend most of the UK shows – can anyone else help? |

Unless you are wargaming Waterloo, Russia or Spain, then building choices are pretty slim. Is Piedmontese region still latin to the 'foreign eye' or has it change to the Alpine style? |

Here's the Kapiti Fusiliers review and pics of the Italeri houses

Hmm, those Italeri buildings do look the business, and scale-wise too, esp considering they're unbased vs figures on thick bases. Cheers to Jim Jones & Arteis. |

And re: the Italeri church
Is the SHS church inappropriate/non-Italian? I suspect it is, but here are some links, incl a size comparison between it and the Italeri church: link link |

And how about this Spanish Villa by Grand Manner – ideal for both Spain & Italy (it says): link If that link doesn't work, pic: picture |

The Brigade Games buildings look a close match for the Italeri ones too. Mix and match

Shell Hole Scenics – that's the range I was thinking of. |
