I have written a report of a large game played at Perry Bros. HQ a couple of months ago:

Hopefully the pics convey some of the colour and drama of this marvellous period!

Well done. It's interesting to see a lesser known (at least to me) period so vividly portrayed.

Nice one, Giles.

Good to read a bit about "Black Powder" also.

Great report, beautiful figures! Thanks.

Thanks Giles. Most inspiring! My own army is rather puny at this stage-5 units per side.

That is something to aspire to. I'm going to put on a big Carlist Wars game at Fall In. Hopefully I can get my hands on some of the amazing new royal marine artillery by then so that the Carlist forces can be shredded by shrapnel just as they are about to polish off some BAL units.

THANK YOU FOR AN EXTREMELY INTERESTING REPORT ON A RELATIVELY UNKNOWN PERIOD.

Wow. Thanks for the great AAR and the beautiful pics. When and if they do come out with the FFL figs I may be unable to resist!

A question about the British forces for the Carlist range…can you use any of these for other campaigns, like Afghanistan? Help needed as to which figs might be suitable with the same uniforms for what campaigns?

I think the short answer is yes. The Perry Miniatures British Auxiliary Legion troops (from the Isabelino range) would be very appropriate for a wide variety of British troops serving in Afghanistan, China and New Zealand during the 1830s and 1840s.

…also for South Africa and Canada at about the same time.

Very Interesting!
