who might make the suitable figure for British infantry for the low countries, french revolutionary war battles etc?

Eagle Figures. Their newer stuff looks great, the older stuff judging from the pics on their website, not so great. Still, it's all that's available in this scale. Eureka have them on a 'to do' list I believe.

Would items 16-18 in Redoubt's "Wellington in India" range work? link
I don't have any of them, so don't know what they look like "in-the-flesh" but the line drawings remind of their Trojan War range which in-person actually look a lot like the drawings. Dean

It looks to me like most have the closed coatee with lace bars. This might be fine for the late 1790s, but I don't think it will work for the 1793-95 campaigns, where it appears that most British units wore the older lapelled coats.

The Redoubt figures are in uniforms that date from about 1798 onwards.

Trent Miniatures hope to have some out for Salute 2010 so Duncan told me at Partizan to go with his Irish Rebels!

Their Irish look like a cross between a cartoon leprechaun and a garden gnome. Hopefully their British will be better, although it's a moot point as they are nigh impossible to source. LLC in the US usd to carry them I think.

If they are designed for the '98 then the uniforms will be of a similar style to most of the Redoubt figures i.e. with closed coat, this style was ordered in 1796 and modified somewhat in 1797.

Sutiable perhaps for some of the ill favoured ventures in the late 1790s but not for the Duke of York's first campaigns. That would seem to be covered by a mass of 4 figures with no appropriate cavalry or artillery.

May be for the regulars but most of militia wer're still in the older uniform. Duncan hopes to do both i.e. in open coat for 1793 regulars/1798 militia and closed coat for later period regulars i.e. The 98 and the 1799 campaign in Holland with the Russians (which says will also be done).

Every picture I saw about the landings in Holland 1799 had the British in the older open coats
