I've been skirmish gaming WWII a lot lately and saw a game at a con of the US Marines going into Fallujah in '04(?) I'd like to do some gaming in this time frame. I'm looking at 15mm since I have a bunch of WWII stuff (bldgs., etc.) that will lend itself to Moderns. I've found a bunch of QRF vehicles, Rebel Minis figures, and Peter Pig figs. and vehicles. My questions relate to painting guides. I can go on the internet and sneeze twice and come up with a dozen WWII fig. and vehicle painting guides. However, I have not been so lucky finding similar for moderns. Can anyone point me in the right direction for USMC Camo patterns and Insurgent and/or Fedayeen color help? Painting has always been my weakest link to gaming so any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Ask this question on the Ambush Alley Forum (ambushalleygames.com/forum) and/or The Guild Forum (guildwargamers.com) and you should get all the help you need. Lots of folks on both forums are playing the same period you describe and can help you out with good painting advice! Just be prepared to be told you're a heretic for using 15mm instead of 20mm on the Guild – but it's all in fun! Hope this helps! Shawn. |

Err..umm
no, their not mine. Really, I play in 20mm all the time. Honest, I was just holding these 15mm figures for a friend. (LOL) Shawn, I was on your site the other night during one of my searches. Thanks for the input. |

Insurgents can be almost any variety of colors, since they really don't have a uniform. Look at photos on the internet, or in magazines from the period. I seem to recall images of Iraqis in jeans, or loose clothing of rather drab colors, e.g. gray, tan, etc. Headscarves were frequently black, or the standard red and white checked patterns, etc. |
