does anyone know what the updated status is of the next ww1 wings of war minis .. i believe it would be set # 4. i have read on other threads that #4 was coming out october and set #5 would be january of 2010.

set 5 was to have early war stuff such as eindeckers, dh2s, moraine bullets, etc
what will be in set 4 and when will it be released???

In short I don't think anybody knows yet. Presumably suppliers like Dom et al will know first and pass on the news. For now though I guess we just have to wait. From what I have learnt and given that S1 WW2 hasn't been out that long I'm now not expecting to see the balloon this year let alone S4. I'll have a guess based on previous schedules and say: Balloon early/mid 2010. S4 mid/late 2010 and S5 late 2011 but your guess is as good as mine.

In the meantime I plan a few more repaints of S1.

Nothing's been announced recently, but set 4 is due to be SE5a, Rumpler C.IV, Breguet XIV, Pfalz D.III. The early war items are due to be set 5, but I don't think have been confirmed via "official" channels at were (I seem to recall it was DH.2, Morane N, Halberstadt D.II and Fokker E.III.) For dates, way back in February a release schedule was published which gave Series 4 as "end of year" – afaik releases have generally been behind schedule, so I'd expect later. Series 5 has never had a release date announced, but the balloon buster set (Nieuport XVI and balloon) was due to be September. Timmo's guesses on actual etas look pretty good to me.

PS – In the UK at least, retailers don't get much advanced info – I'm pretty sure the WW2 release was announced on the Yahoo group before the UK distributor emailed about it.

I have a big set of about 30+ Sram ww1 that I didn't really have time to build. Was thinking about maybe eBaying them. Womder what they are worth? I would rather repaint the WOW stuff and F-toys. I heard they are doing a second ww1 set of Biplanes. Bombers and then another set of fighters.

WoW already have three series out. Series four will probably be out during 2010 and is a mix of scouts and two seaters. Series five is expected to be early war types.

Other topics here have more precise details.

It occurs to me that this is going to be a very one sided release in demand terms.

I would hope that the manufacturers are gearing up for huge numbers of SE5a sales, compared to the other planes.

My sense is that there's a pent up demand of some considerable proportions from those who have not used kit builds for SE5's to date.

I think your about right there. I think there's nearly the same level of demand for the Brisfit as well. But I think we'll be waiting 2 years plus for that.
