This game was absolutely amazing. The table was about 12 feet long and we had 18 players and 2 GMs. Wish I had gotten more shots of the whole table, but I was pretty wrapped up in trying to take the beach right in front of Mt. Surabachi! The mountain was even modeled like an ant farm so the Jap player could move his troops around the tunnels, and you could actually sight down the barrels of the naval guns to see what you could hit! There were also warrens of trenches, tunnels, and bunkers that had been similarly modeled at the other end of the table, so the JAP player could place his figs without the American players seeing them. Wored really, really well.

There were plentiful casualty figures everywhere, all conversions including figures burned by flamethrowers, run over by tanks, blown to shreds as kamikazes, etc. I kid you not there was a casualty figure for every figure killed in the game which was really a brilliant touch.

Figures were a mix of Brigade Games and TAG and armor was mostly 1/48 plastic stuff. Best WWII game I've ever played at a Con (although I've run a few that came close!)

Check out the slide show as the pics are bigger that way.

Do you have any shots that show the whole table, or at least most of it? I love the close-ups but am having trouble connecting them.

Maybe someone else who played in the game/attended the Con took pictures also?

Unfortunately I don't have pics of the whole board. I was too involved in the game and just taking occasional snaps with the iphone. I think some of the convention people may have taken better photos though, and I'll post them if they did.

Are you sure this wasn't made from clips of a movie? I was sure I saw John Wayne in one of the pics.

Seriously though, this looked like a great time for all
