Picked up a set over the Labor Day weekend and posted a review on my blog:

Thanks. I am looking forward to pictures post-flocking. I think they are handsome boards, and from what people say, very tough. I'm with you on the skull pits, though.

You could also cut out the skulls and give the board a bit of depth, if its for LOTR say, an orc pit or mine entrance or something similar. Just make a small recess with your detail and glue it to the underside of the board.

Good suggestion, Monstyr. Only issue is the support grid underneath. I could cut away part of that, too, I suppose. I'll look into it tonight when I get home. Thanks!

Just get a bit of plastic drainpipe or an old plastic cup or box or similar cut to the depth of the board and use that as a 'frame' to support whatever detail you decide to model. The wall of this should provide enough support for the detailed bit on its inside which will actually be seen through the hole in the board, it also means you can put the detail on while sitting in comfort at a desk before glueing the sub assembly to the board.

Not too sure I've actually explained that very well.

I had a report on how I did mine and filled in the skullz on The Last Alliance website, but it's down at the moment…

I've read that the Last Alliance website is dead and the information irretrievably gone. It's a shame. I'm not a LOTR player, but I even used that website from time to time. Wish I had downloaded some items from there previously.
