I know this is pretty subjective but "Who in your opinion makes the best 15mm Biblical era miniatures?"
I would prefer NKE but I will consider anything as long as they are good sculpts.

Essex and Chariot make up all of my chariots in my NKE army.

I like the black hat stuff, my EAP are all from them.

I Have painted NKE armies from Old Glory15, Chariot UK and Viking Forge. All produced nice armies. Old Glory15 makes a very wide variety of Biblical armies.

Viking forge are solid castings with little assembly. I mention Viking Forge because they often get overlooked.

Another vote for Chariot. I've seen just about everyone else's, save for Black Hat.

Hi Rudy

Damb you, I thought my greek army was finished. Now I have to buy some more. They are very nice, never seen them before. More money gone….

The Black Hat ones are the old Gladiator ones, I think? If so then they are a bit stumpy in the leg department, particularly the chariot crews. Museum Miniatures are OK and a bit more sturdy than the Chariot or Essex ( I have a mix of all 4, so no axe to grind)

Yes the Black Hat are formerly Gladiator. I think they;re very nice but then I'm the US rep so likely biased.

Have you looked at the Venexia range? I sell them as well :-P

Yes the Spartans of Viking Forge were one of my favorites with the transverse crest.

You might want to give Peter Pig a look as well.

I've just done a Magister Militum/Chariot NKE army. Nice to paint. The Egyptians are all single pose per pack whereas auxilliaries such as Sea peoples and Libyans are mixed pose. I'm so used to multi-pose packs that I wasn't sure I would like it but it suits Egyptian art.
The moulds for the chariots seem a bit tired and needed quite a bit of flash removing. The other figures were still pretty flash free in most cases.

I used a mix of Black Hat and Essex for my NKE and Hittite armies. I was very happy with both, although I greatly preferred the Black Hat foot. Multiple poses per pack, well sculpted.

However, I preferred the Essex chariots. The BH offered a great range of options and types of chariots, horse and crew, which I was pleased to see….BUT…the chariots are designed with extremely thick sides. So thick in fact, that fitting the crew in was impossible without surgery. I was forced to remove their feet actually.

But, mixing both manufacturers worked well for me. I'd definitely go with Black Hat and Essex again in a heartbeat.
