Which famous person or celebrity from the 1990s would you most like to see in 28mm scale?

aecurtis Fezian07 Sep 2009 1:47 p.m. PST

Martha Stewart

Easy!

Braveheart Mel Gibson.

The Power Rangers, because something has to look more stupid than Warhammer in official color schemes.

And most importantly:
The Girls of Baywatch, both original and as a limited edition collector's set of "Playboy" variant castings.

peleset07 Sep 2009 2:27 p.m. PST

Saddam Hussein.
Would make a good objective marker in a modern skirmish scenario.

Maybe not so much a 90's theme as my favorite bands from the 80s-90s which have the kind of character to make good minis: Sonic Youth, Misfits (admittedly 80's), Ramones, Dinosaur Jr., Ministry, Beastie Boys, Jesus & Mary Chain, Joy Division.

Why not throw some of the famous skaters from the era too: Mark Gonzales, Ray Barbee, Guy Mariano, Tony Hawk, Ed Templeton, Mike Vallely, and Matt Hensley.

Hey!!! What about me?

Oh wait… I don't care. ; )

Ronald Regan (more 80's, but he was still around then)
Gorbachov
Kurt Cobain

Can we presume from this thread that the Editor has decided hat the cut off point for 'current affairs' is any time before the year 2000?

"Ronald Regan (more 80's, but he was still around then)

Yes I'd go for a Ronald Reagan and also a companion figure of Rock Hudson looking for his wristwatch. The Reagan figure would be useful for Bitburg zombie games.

Would you have Kurt Cobain with guitar or shotgun? Plugged or unplugged so to speak.

All good objectives for skirmishes
Bill Clinton could be cool, you play secret service and protect him and keep him from "trouble"

Would that be with or without the saxophone? While we're at it, lets add Monica Lewinsky as well as Hillary. Ok, ok I'm straying into Blue Fez territory there.

To stay on topic, how about some 80's-90's female pop and rock stars. Three come to mind: Madonna, Joan Jett and Lita Ford. Oh heck lets go backa couple of years earlier and do all of the Runaways.

GarnhamGhast08 Sep 2009 3:20 a.m. PST

I'd go for Reagan, but only so I could modify him to carry a fire axe so he looks like the guy from The Trippers!

John

- Ash from Army of Darkness.
- Buffy
- Will Smith (independece day and maybe a Fresh Prince against zombies)
- Pamela Anderson (but not a Zombie version)
- Talk show host either zombified or attacked by zombies. Choose the one you liked less (or more): Oprah, Jerry Springler, Geraldo, Arsenio Hall, Jay Leno…

It's not official until the poll is taken, but that seemed to be the consensus from the last discussion.

Captain Apathy08 Sep 2009 6:57 a.m. PST

Any number of Presidential level political figures would be cool.

Reagan
Clinton
Perot
Gorbachev
Putin
Hamad bin Khalifa

… the list just goes one from there.

The Jim Jones Cocktail Hour08 Sep 2009 1:04 p.m. PST

Ross Perot can be fashioned from exisiting Disney figurines if you can be bothered. Indeed Disney may have IP problems if someone were to market as figure as Ross Perot.

CmdrKiley08 Sep 2009 5:44 p.m. PST

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jung Il

Moammar Gadhafi

The Jim Jones Cocktail Hour08 Sep 2009 8:06 p.m. PST

And of course Lil Kim or as she later became known, 'Not So Lil Kim'

"Ross Perot can be fashioned from [existing] Disney figurines" -- that is easily the funniest post of the month.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the signal, ubiquitous "personalities" of the 90s: The Spice Girls

Neotacha09 Sep 2009 10:17 a.m. PST

There were personalities in the nineties? ;)

Scorpio09 Sep 2009 11:39 a.m. PST

Man, some people here have funny ideas of when the 90s were.
