I did this project for a friend who's playing out a 40K campaign on a mining world. All the pieces are made from household items that would have been otherwise discarded, including some cflimsy plastic storage bins, used up gift cards, salsa bowls, and plunger caps from our diabetic cat's insulin needles. Thanks for looking! (sorry, first one's fuzzy) picture picture picture picture |

Great Work Jason! I too love to salvage interesting bits and pieces for terrain for sci fi applications. |

What is the spherical tank made out of
are those the salsa bins? What did you paint it with to get that pewter effect? |

Thanks, everyone! Yes, the tank is made from two salsa cups. They had a very rough exterior, so once I cemented the two halves together I painted the whole thing with Krylon Fusion Black and drybrushed with Gunmetal. |

Crap
wish I had seen that while I was still at Dollar Tree getting the Battlekings knockoffs. Great use of the salsa bins! |

Very nice , did you use old credit cards for bases? |
| GreatScot72 | 06 Sep 2009 10:47 p.m. PST |
Yes, Dan, the old gift cards are bases for the little storage cylinders. |

I have a pile of Parking Cards that I intend to use for bases in a similar manner. |
