Some pictures I took recently of my Sebeki. I enjoyed painting these so much that now I am hooked on wargods! Sebeki hero picture Sebeki unit picture Master of Words picture Beloved of Sobek picture I gave them a slightly glossy varnish, since they are reptiles. I am unsure if I should keep it or just matt varnish the lot. Cheers! |

Wonderful job! As soon as I finish my Khemru, the Sebeki are on my list – I may use them as a "break" between batches of Basti. I'd go with a flat finish myself. Reptiles aren't generally glossy unless they just got out of the swamp. Wyatt |

Those look great, I suspect your Vikings aren't going to be overly happy with them as neighbors. Excellent work. Donald~ |

Smaller snakes and lizards can can shiny scales, but crocodilians are only shiny right out of the egg. Adults get mistaken for logs in the water for good reason. Of course, real crocs don't have access to buffing cloths, ointments, or bikini-clad Basti Babes with a cleaning obsession. Cue the music to "Car Wash" and go with the semi-gloss. |

I'd go with a dull coat myself, but they look great. The sebeki are fantastic figures, the best from the Aegyptus line in my opinion. I've painted about 50 of them at this point. Make sure you protect the spines very well with your sealant as they have a tendency to chip. |

I too think you should loose the glossy look. Very nice pain job though. |

@ DRDHauser: The vikings don't mind, since they are in the historical shelf, with some Celts and Romans. The Sebeki are on another shelf, next to the Dark Elves. The elves are paler than usual, and a few seem to be missing
@ Wyatt: next are the Typhon and Basti I got from you ;-) I'll consider the matt finish. If I do it, I will post pictures. Thanks for your opinions! |

Nice work mate! I'd go with the matt or satin finish as well (glossed models always remind me of Jon Blanches figures

I agree with the others whohave suggested a matt finish, but these guys look great. Nice work! I also love the Sebeki miniatures
they're not quite my favorite Aegyptus miniatures, but they're up there. That Beloved of Sobek is a monster – put it on the table next to a monster from Hordes or Warhammer, and the Beloved kicks their butt. -Alex |

Beowulf; If you do use Matte coating
only do one at first, just in case YOU don't like the look!! That way you only have to fix one. Then you can compare the two to decide which you like better. I am not a big fan of gloss finishes, but you have done a very nice job. Remember they are your figures, and it is your decision, not ours. They might look great as is on a game table. I did notice that the gold and jewels look stunning in the gloss. How did you paint them to look so beautiful? What paints and gold coloring? Thanks in advance. Regards, Hitman |

I rather like the gloss, try one before you matt them all. |

That's made the trade even better as you have done a better job than I would have! :-) Mick |

@Hitman – I used Vallejo Game Colours. I think I used Bronze, with a straight wash of Winsor & Newton Nut Brown ink, which gives great results. And the gloss coat on metals help! For the Sebeki themselves, this was my first use of the new GW washes. I think they worked quite well. |
