I feel, really, weird just now. In all my years on TMP I have never SEEN "Classical Assian Warfare": yet the posts go back to 2002. What's up with that?

The board was created in July 2008. Check the older topics and you'll see they all show "Cross-posted to
" that month. |

Some months now. There was a supposed hue and cry for a separate Asian board, because apparently it was insufferable having to weed through posts about Europe or the Middle East. As someone else once said
. 'lovely, more boards' |

Actually, I think some boards do make sense. Having one that covers Asian warfare happens to be one of them. There are other superflous boards. This just doesn't happen to be one of them. My advice would be to eliminate all the ones that are overkill. Thank, John |

Who gets to decide which boards are superfluous? I reckon I could get it down to less than two dozen without much trying.
and its, "More boards. Lovely." |

Doug: That's because most of the classical asian is cross posted to ancient or medieval boards. How do you think we got in to the men in shiny suits vs. samurai discussion? As a follow up to that discussion I am reading two books by Nicolle and intend to buy at least four more on Hospitalers, Templars, and Teutonic Knights. Thanks for opening my eyes to another world. I feel like I have just recovered from a "cast invisibility" spell: Pop! there this board suddenly is. I MUST have posted "No More Boards!" when this came up: I always do. If I was redesigning TMP, here's about how I would assign the boards, and there wouldn't be anymore, and this problem would not come up (i.e. no more "invisible" boards to people like me): Historical Wargaming Discussion: a) Ancient; b) Medieval; c) Renaissance; d) Black Powder; e) Modern Non Historical Gaming Discussion: ONE BOARD to cover the lot. Computer Gaming Discussion: ONE BOARD to cover the lot. General Discussion for Other Topics Not Directly Related to Wargaming: ONE BOARD to cover the lot. I would keep TBF (no sense wasting all the time spent already laboring to get it to GO)

It ain't going to happen. Board proliferation is the way forward. Makes you want to weep doesn't it? |

More votes for more boards here! The classical Asian board came about after all us lost souls were looking all over TMP's green earth for Samurai and other threads. Glad to see you found us. Next question? VR James Mattes |

Never mind Doug, it only took 12 months for you to cotton on to this Asian development. That's a lot less time than it took you to realise someone had gone and changed the name of Peking to Beijing. |

"I reckon I could get it down to less than two dozen without much trying." I can get it down to two very easily. 'Wargaming' and 'Other stuff'. Rather like the arrangement of the front page in fact with 'Message Boards' and 'Plus Boards'. |

"I reckon I could get it down to less than two dozen without much trying." I didn't want to scare the anal retentives too much Martin. Some of them might have gnawed right through their comfort blankets. I can get it down to two very easily. 'Wargaming' and 'Other stuff'. Would one be able to crosspost between them? |
