I've lately pick up this comic at a yard sale this last Saturday. Got issues 1 thru 61. I'm reading issue 35 now. This is some good shight, folks! A zed epidemic breaks out, guy walks up from a coma in a hospital. Sound familiar? The resemblance to 28 Days Later ends there. Story is about normal folks dealing with a Zed world. Most excellent!!!! If I was running an All Flesh Must be Eaten RPG I'd be using this series big time for ideas for running events and plots. |

I agree. One of the best and most compelling versions of a zombie plague. People trying to survive minus lame heroics. |

I'm not sure about the net, but the books are all available in graphic novel format. Try Borders or Barnes & Noble for the collections. |

Hits the small screen soon as well. Brian |

A very well done series. Be warned, it does get extremely violent at times, including scenes of torture. |

The interesting part of this book is, unlike other Zombie titles, in this book the zombies are really nothing more than background scenery – scenery that can bite, but the story is not focused on them at all. Its a story about a group of people dealing with the unthinkable. The title of the comic, The Walking Dead, is revealed around issue 20 to NOT refer to the zombies at all, but instead to the group of survivors. The writers have a Whedon-like fascination with killing off primary characters. Don't get too attached to any of them, as they may be gone next issue. AMC is supposedly working up a series based on this comic. |

I cannot put these down! My friend is loaning me his graphic novel collection. Both times I've started, I absolutely could not stop until I read all of them I had. So sitting 1 I read: Collected Volumes 1-3 Sitting 2 I read: Collected Volumes 4-8 That's it. Two sittings. . . 8 volumes. They are that addictive. Worse, I didn't know what I was getting into the first time around and started at midnight. Was up past 3 on a work night. |

I think there are about 60+ issues to the series. Comic book issues, NOT graphic novels. |

My friend has read my collection and described it as a 'series of calamitous events with interludes of misery'. It's hard to disagree and I almost gave up on them but after reading collection 8, it seems to be developing a new arc. It could do with a dose of humour now and again. Even in the bleakest of situations people still have the occasional giggle. |
