In 1806 George Naylor, York Herald, was appointed inspector of regimental colours and sent out leaflets for regiments to return to him with details of the design of the colours they were then carrying. Does anyone know, please, of any printed source with all the detail of this information and/or indeed where the material is now stored if the originals survive?

Thanks.

Regards,

David

Have you tried the Herald's College in Queen Victoria Street?

Thanks – no, I haven't. I'll see what they have to say. I see from the website there is *still* an Inspector of Regimental Colours!

Cheers,
