does anyone have a picture of the British LCP(M) that they could share with us here? I have seen both the LCP(L) & LCP(R), but have never run across a picture of the landing craft mentioned and would like to compare it to the others. I look forward to your help.

No there's nothing useful there – the LCM is a completely different thing to the LCP(M). Can't find any pictures of the latter offhand, although I suspect there might be some in ONI-201. From my notes they were clinker-built and just under 40 feet (actually that sounds rather long….), with a single screw – apparently the design was based on the coble type fishing boats common in north-east England.

Not much help, but here's the front of one: picture

That's the only picture I can find, but there's a bit of info here: link – just over half-way down the page. If you do a Google search for "Northumberland coble" it'll at least give an idea of the construction.

It's designs like that that make you appreciate the bow ramp.

To be fair it was designed for raiding on rocky coasts, where a ramp would be no use.

I've seen similar photos from Burma (notably in the book 'The Banzaihunters', about the Commando operations along the Burma coast) without the type being specified in the caption. They aren't that dissimilar in profile from some of the indigenous designs from SE Asian waters.
