Has anyone here done any personal research on the multi-national Non-Intervention Naval Patrol that was instituted during the Spanish Civil War?

I know that four navies took part in it: the Royal Navy, the French Navy (Marine Nationale), the Nazi German Navy (Kriegsmarine), and the Italian Navy (Regia Marina). The U.S. Navy had a small force sent to Spanish waters called Squadron 40-T, but their primary mission was to oversee the evacuation of Americans from the war, and not the picket duties the other four navies engaged in.

I've been successful in finding information about the patrol, and I've even been able to cobble a rough list of the ships from each of the respective fleets. I am, though, finding some difficulty in locating the names of the French Navy ships that were on station, save for the old battleship Courbet. Would anyone have some additional info about the French on patrol? Also, what would y'all think would be an appropriate scale to game the partol? 1/2400? Or maybe 1/3000 or smaller?

Thank you.

If you Google images by ship name, you can get a decent idea of the larger units since it seemed almost anything painted with the Neutrality Patrol national color turret stripes had its' picture taken in that livery. I know I've seen either Dunkerque or Strasburg with the tricolor stripes on the turret. A bit labor intensive but it would probably work for CL and above.

There was some discussion on SCW naval matters in the old Abandarado magazine which was also on magweb. A&A Game engineering (IIRC correctly) promised a suppliment to cover the SCW and it was intended to cover the non-intervention patrols as well. Not sure if it was ever published though.

Thanks, fellas.

I've found another French ship that participated in the blockade; the seaplane tender Commandant Teste. In thinking about it, I believe that the majority of their patrol vessels probably consisted of destroyers, followed by a smattering of heavy and light cruisers. Their patrol area wasn't very large, as it was off the coast of Galicia.

In the meantime, I'll continue to mine for more info.
