Looking at taking advantage of Warlord Games current post free offer and purchasing some Clubmen.

Anyone bought any yet and what do you think?

Any painted examples out there?

All replies appreciated,
Many thanks.

They are very colourful figures and a number are quite useful for a number of games.

The burly tavern owner and the gentleman are probably the best figures overall. The one giving the two finger salute and the "yokel" farmer are good too.

The other figures are excellent sculpts with great attention to detail, but might not cater to all tastes. Some hands do need drilling out to fit any weapons.

Warlord makes very nice figures but some sets can be a bit gimmicky – Cool but not always very useful.

Does anyone know how these would match up with Redoubt figures? I have a handful of these that would do well for clubmen.

Thanks Patrick.

I have taken the plunge and ordered a pack along with the sniper.

Many thanks.

I haven't seen the clubmen in the flesh, but given the height of their foot, I would say they are a fair bit smaller than Redoubt (which count among the tallest). More Perry-like in scale!

Cheers

Well I did indeed purchase some and I must say, first impressions were rubbish and nearly ended up in the melted lead pile.
The amount of flash on these was immense, something I haven't seen in a long, long time.
However, lots of cutting, filing and drilling later they have cleaned up a treat and certainly will bring some life and character to my Perry force.
For those interested, I have for the past 2 1/2 years been creating a small skirmish force for a local fight that happened close to where I live called the Battle of Whalley and this consisted of a band of clubmen from Fylde (Blackpool area) that actually didn't participate but were kept in reserve.
Me…I'm a Parliamentarian myself as Colonel Shuttleworth, who lead and routed the overwhelming attacking Royalists was a local man from my home town.
Long live the thick necks.
