Trailape – your Napoleonics are inspirational as always. AB is great line for both quality & scale for large armies. Regards, Dean

Excellent stuff mate. I've just returned to the Napoleonic gaming fold after a LONG absence, and have also purchased some AB French. I like the look of the basing…I'm looking for a rules set now I've returned to the fold. Is Age of Eagles any good? How does it play.

Love the painting!

Hi Waffler
AoE is a good set if you want to play at BRIGADE LEVEL. Each unit is a Brigade, so it's easy enought to fight large battles.
If you've played Fire And Fury ACW rules you'll notice they are very similar, ('cause AoE is a "variant" of FaF I guess).
I picked AoE mainly because they were the main Napoleonic System being used at the Club I play at.
The other thing is the basing system is readily addaptable to other systems.
All in all, AoE plays well, but I also like FPGA and I'm looking forward to the "HONOUR" system being put together by Sam Mustaffa. "Lasalle" is the first of the HONOUR Modules.
I'm sure there is a detailed REVIEW of AoE somewhere on theis forum.

Reviews of several Napoleonic rule sets including AoE. New version of Le Feu Sacre (also reviewed) comes out in September)
