It will be a few weeks more and we will have all the Terrain boards up and available on the Web page. Based on response at Historicon, we added a few more boards and will be posting the when all are finished. |

I only know what I read on the site. These seem to exist and are said to cost $200 USD as of Historicon. Just wondering if this is still the true? Product not available but some people seem to have seen and felt it. But no one took pictures. JLA105 "They were on display in the Old Glory Shipyards section against the east wall. They weren't well displayed, you had to look over a table full of resin ships and terrain to see them. They looked like 2' x 2' sections painted in an OD green. Road and River boards were there – it looked to me like they were designed to be set up in any configuration." Miniatureships 20 July " I am sorry that you didn't say something, as we did allow people to go back and look over the Terrain Boards more closely, as well as pick them up, feel how light weight they were and how durable. Picutres should start appearing on the web by the end of the week." Extra Crispy "Each board is 24x24". They come in sets of 6 plain/flat or 3 hills or 3 rivers or 3 roads. They have a texture as if flocked but that is cast in, not glued on. They felt quite rigid and strong but also light. I was impressed and am seriously thinking about a few sets for the store. As I recall the base set of 6 boards was around $200. USD USD at least for now they are not eligible for the Old Glory army discount." |

Yes, they were on display there --but just display. They were samples.trust us -- when they are ready they will be up on the site. We took some consumer feedback and made adjustments to the color. The last panels , such as crossroads, river crossing, etc are having the finihing touchs put on them now and will be avaiabhle in due time --- and not months and months --no money taken,no pre-orders.etc Sorry for any confusion and thank you for your interest and concern. I have a couple of more questions. Are these made to a particular scale or the featurers generic enough to be used with multiple scales? A 4" wide road is actually not far off for 15mm skirmish gaming, the world is bigger than most of use realize. However a 3/4" diameter tree stump while perhaps a bit on the large size for 28mm, would come from a massive 6 foot diameter tree in 15mm. What sort of material are they made from? Soft foam, hard foam, resin, vacuum formed sheet styrene? Is the cast in texture similar to the GW "Battle of Five Armies" modular hills? Those are excellent and hae the "cast in flock" texture that Mark is describing. Will there be an unfinished/unpainted option available? Is there an easy way to clip toether multiple boards? $200 USD for the base set of 6 boards seems a bit steep at first brush, but having bought lots of terrain, as wel as scratchbuilding supplies, and being short on building/finishing time, it is not perhaps unreasonable. As was mentioned on one of the other threads, $200 USD will buy a lot of 1" foam insulation noards, flock, paint, Liquid Nails, etc. However I do not particulary enjoy caring and gluing foam board, toxic fumes and static cling dust everywhere, and I have yet discover a reliable method for gluing flock down to make it durable in play over any kind of large area. I am anxiously awaiting pictures and reviews. |

Just prior to Historicon, we had anticipated getting the product out several weeks after the show. At the show, we listen to the feed back and made a few changes, such as coloring and adding a few more tiles. This resulted in a delay. Basically, the boards are cast high destiny light weight foam, with the flocking look cast into the piece. They are 2' X 2', with the heaviest board weighing about pound and half. They will come prepainted. Even though they come already painted, they can very easily repainted, dry brushed, and glue on some extra scenic effect type bushes. The roads are 1 1/2" with a 1/2" bank on either side. The roads set down into the board and are rutted. The easiest way to get any foam to stay in place on a table is to use a felt table cloth. |

I saw a fantastic trench system on Kallistra's stand at a show earlier this year. Might be worth giving them a Google. Cheers, |

I just stumbled upon the category of these on the OG website, I had no idea they were planning such a thing. I'm amazed that as often as I go to their site I'm always discovering new things there, old and new. It is very, very tempting to try these, particularly for hills. But is is a little difficult to plunk down $200 USD bucks when it is hard to see how high the hills are. I also can't tell if the hills are rounded or are of the Coyote/Roadrunner Aztec pyramid variety.* The 'Rocky outcrop' hills sure look nice. If anyone has better pictures or descriptions please share as I have long been tempted to go the terrain board route. *Please note this is not the usual sour war gamer criticism of the photos. From taking pictures of my miniatures for my blog I realize how difficult it can be to photograph this type of thing. |
