Last one of these I saw, didn't really address the question very well. So here's a new one. If a game uses only one type of die for all rolls, which would you prefer it use? This includes games whose mechanic involves multiple dice of the same type either added together or considered separately. d4 d6 d8 d10 d12 d20 d100 No preference Mixed dice are fine |

Either D20, or 2 x D10 (D100), depending upon the need. |

I always feel sorry for the underrated, unloved, unappreciated d12 I have written a few games for my Club, and they only use d12s as the main dice, with a d8 and a d4 for damages. I *heart* d12s.

if n=1, no preference between d10 and d6 if multiples, D6 |

D10 or D6 is my preference. |

I prefer a mixture of dice. I find the d12 and d6 most useful. I also prefer to use a custom pseudo-logarithmic d3, a regular d20, and a regular d10. More meaningful statistical information will result if you structure the poll as "Which dice you you prefer to wargame with?" The "Mixed dice" option will taint the results. Allowing multiple selection will reveal moderate preferences more readily that a single selection option. The opinions of myself, peterx, Lentulus, Top Gun Ace, Waterloo, and perhaps richarDMB would be better revealed by allowing 2 or 3 selections without the mixed dice option. |

If forced to pick just one type, then D6. More than enough granularity for the events which need to be simulated by most minis rules. |

Personal preference: D10. If trying to market a game: D6 since everyone has them already. |

Percentile of your choice
2d10
d100
or my personal use
2 d20
numbered 0-9 twice I chose this for a couple of reasons a) I can easily wrap my mind around a %
0% to 100% chance b) it gives 100 degrees of freedom |

I like the D10, but where is the love for the D30? |

I'll add one for d10s. The d12 idea has some merit but I'll stick with d10s. |

d10 for one die or as percentage dice. Otherwise d6. |

It doesn't rally matter. The little brutes hate me whatever the three dimensional geometry |
| WKeyser | 28 Aug 2009 3:11 a.m. PST |
Well I would opt for a d3, it would give all possible historical out comes. 1 win 2 lose 3 tie William |
| richarDISNEY | 28 Aug 2009 11:48 a.m. PST |
I think the D32 would be cool
. link There is only one game I know of that uses a 'real' d30, which is the old RPG Tales of the Floating Vagabond. A d30 is used in Formula De, but its numbered 21-30 only
