Victory Force, but Jim Bland just underwent surgery and will likely be out for a while. Get well Jim! |

Battle Honors is still my favorite which White Knight did not list. They have a very complete range of Axis and Allied figures. |
White Knight | 25 Aug 2009 3:30 a.m. PST |
Actually, the lists are for Weird WWII figures (as was the question). Battle Honors are in the historical WWII list, which is also linked to from the page I posted. ;-) WK |

Artizan are my favorite, but a guy in my club loves Victory Force. Victory Force just released a bunch of new stuff also, so it seems he is back in production. |

"Of course you know your ABC?" said the Red Queen. "To be sure, I do," said Alice. "So do I," the White Queen whispered: "we'll often say it over together, dear. And I'll tell you a secret--I can read words of one letter! Isn't that grand? However, don't be discouraged. You'll come to it in time." |

I do not stock Old Glory 25s but did they not have a WW2 range several years ago or were they casting a UK company in the USA under contract like the Command Decision is done? Back in the 1990s there was a company from the Kansas area who had both a set of rules and a miniature range. Was the name of the rules 'Battleground' or something close to that. I heard that the miniatures were now on the West coast? or was it the rules? |

"I do not stock Old Glory 25s but did they not have a WW2 range several years ago or were they casting a UK company in the USA under contract like the Command Decision is done?" That was West Wind, which the OP mentions, and which WK lists in his showcase, as it includes *W*WWII. "Back in the 1990s there was a company from the Kansas area who had both a set of rules and a miniature range. Was the name of the rules 'Battleground' or something close to that. I heard that the miniatures were now on the West coast? or was it the rules?" You're probably thinking of Easy Eight Enterprises, whose figures were originally introduced for the "Battleground: Wprld War II" rules: TMP link Now available from Pacific Sky Games: pacificskygames.com/default.aspx But those are *not* *W*WWII

Gentlemen, Thanks for all of the information. Now it's just getting more of the local crowd interested in something other than GW products (Not that I am opposed to GW, it's just that I'd like to try other things from time to time!). By Stealth and guile there will be other games played around here! Thanks, Synjin |
Stewbags | 26 Aug 2009 1:14 a.m. PST |
Synjin You prob realised this as it is pretty obvious, but a lot of WHFB stuff can be easily used, vampires, zombies, skellies, werewolves, dragons, deamons etc all have there place. Also an alien invasion force would make for a fun game, lets face it 40k has any number of options here
. I love WWW2, just wish i had enough time to really get on with my sov's, as well as able to find someone to play against. I like the warzone plasitcs as WWW2 heavy troopers, i am currently working on some empire ones and modding them to russian assault troops. The Bauhaus ones will be my german troops. The Bauhaus walkers work well for WWW2, check papa midnights displaced miniatures pages to see thme all done up. I also like the WOTC D&D minis as a cheap and easily converted source of were creatures, etc. What sort of games you looking to do? hi tech? low tech? paranormal? pitched battles or mission based scenarios? What rules you going to use? |
richarDISNEY | 26 Aug 2009 7:02 a.m. PST |
Mark Evans is starting to make a whole line of WWW2 figs, including allies with 'new' weapons. He will also doing his line of WWW2 mutants as seen in the TMP link: TMP link It sounds like he is getting some steam behind him, and wants to get his minis line off the ground. Yes. I did buy his first WWW2 mutant, and I thought it was a really good looking fig. Not a , just really happy with this fig. |
Goldwyrm | 26 Aug 2009 10:24 a.m. PST |
There are several other figure options for Weird World War II in addition to companies making dedicated figure ranges. Warzone was already mentioned as well as WotC. I also use Legions of Steel Fantasian stormtroopers. I'm using a squad as Russian powered armor assault troops with PPSh-41. picture Still available through Amazon Miniatures link I also use several of the AT-43 walkers. Also for a WWWII zombie option there is Blue Moon with the zombie characters of political figures and generals. link And if you're a bit rich there are the Fantasy Flight Tannhäuser game with included prepainted figures and some separate. link
But those are *not* *W*WWII
While there is nothing fantastical about the Easy Eight Enterprises (EEE) figures, the heroes set has several characters that would be good WWWII heroes and there are also the EEE German Nachtjagers. picture |

Stewbags, Why yes, I have Lizardmen who are going to be sea demons raised by a Nazi sorceress. Of course those go with the Foundry Home Guard that I've had for a long time. I would also like to use some of the Ma. K. type suits in games. Also have a bag of Bauhaus that will get converted
eventually. (I'm immortal, as I have to many figures to paint to do something silly like dying.) Currently I am using To Be Continued by GASLIGHT. It works great for Pulp Scifi/Fantasy games. And, it is true that you can do any kind of game using GASLIGHT (We did spies, alien predators and a sasquatch. Worked out pretty well, but the Predators needed to be more powerful. And I only played this because these figures were sitting on the painting table next to each other and yelled, "Hey! Play this game!"). The open-ended nature of the rules suits me well. Synjin :) |
Stewbags | 27 Aug 2009 1:32 a.m. PST |
I will have to have a look at To Be Continued, i am thinking i will use Combat Zone and be playing scenarios more than pitched battles. From the sounds of it i would view Combat Zone equally as flexible as T B C. Ma.K suits make my knees go all wobbly, i have 5 Melsuine and 3 Gradiators (i assume that should be Gladiators but who knows) at the moment but am trying to get some more. Originally they were going to be Sovs, the Gradiators still will be i think, with T34-85 turrets implanted. I have gone and bought some Red Blok AT-43 stuff so the Melsuine will instead be UK or US walkers (when the hell will i get to those projects?). Have you seen the Dust Tactics mechs, blimy they look nice!!! I love the many different permutations that WWW2 can be played with, from just simple basically WW2 with a couple of "specials" all the way through to Lasers, Tesla and microwave cannons, armoured suits and robots, super tanks, raise the dead, demonic summonations, super heroes, were people, wizards and psychics, alien invasions, or any combination of the above. Just awesome!!! |
Synjin | 29 Aug 2009 2:24 p.m. PST |
Stewbags, It was sooo cruel of you to clue me into the Dust Tactic figures! Aaargh! Not another thing that I HAVE to HAVE. If you get to Alaska, let me know. We can play something weird and fun (It sounds like you like weird and fun!). Thanks, Synjin |
