Hi Peeps

I've just posted the fourth and final part of my look at the recent survey of DBMM players. The final part is worth reading for the Girls Aloud wish alone.

tinyurl.com/oljctq – Part 1: Basic findings
tinyurl.com/pkdm2h – Part 2: The rule book
tinyurl.com/lommag – Part 3: Playing the game
tinyurl.com/lhcdnt – Part 4: Issue & wishes

Thanks once again to everyone who took part.

Martin,

Excellent survey.

On the whole, I found the reponses not much different from those made about previous rule books and my experience with WRG dates back to the 2nd edition Ancients (10mm frontage for SHI). Unfortunately, my intrest in Ancients took a back seat three years ago when I chose for a total immersion of the SYW period.

After a half year search for a suitable set of rules, we dusted off our copies of the WRG 1685 – 1845 rule book (1979) and gave them a test. Phil does write in a concise manner and for many readers his style will evoke many questions. He does answer questions sent directly to him, but I have not known him to participate in forums, he is simply too busy developing games. I loved his corps level game, the Battle of Dorking (British vs. Germans), never released.

After reading your survey, I would certainly play DBMM and give the later medieval period a try.

Cheers,
Robert
