After several orders with Litko, I was always disappointed by their delivery time. Around 4 or 5 weeks on average, I decided to try out Gale Force Nine Econo Bases I bought the 3mm thick Rectangular types.40x15, 40x20 and 40x30 a pint of each size.It was a try since you do not know how many there will be in a pint. The order arrived at my door step in four days! The count was as follow: 71 40x30 90 40x20 115 40x15 It come close to Litko in price per base if you compare with their bag of 100's, better if you compare to the 50 ones, and the quality is excellent. I have been told that if you a Quart the price per base will be even cheaper. To me being a sort of instant gratification guy the time involved was itself a major issue. I got an email for the order received, next day another one with a tracking number and got them in the USA the fourth day. Perfect! |

By the pint? seems a strange way to sell stuff whats wrong with weight or number come to think of it i'm not sure it would be legal in the UK (and Euroland). |

I wish I would have come across their quart containers sooner. A local gaming store had someof the GF9 products but then was slow ro replenish. So I went direct to GF9. I ordered a quart of cavalry 20mm by 50mm and 20mm by 20mm and an quite pleased with them. I also order their custom movement trays at the same time so my delivery time tends to be longer, but they keep me informed. So I am quite pleased with their product and service. |

I have movement trays from both companies, and prefer the Litko trays. GF9 has struck me from early on as having a GW approach to pricing ("because they'll pay it") so I just don't buy from them very often. |

My only issue with Litko is that it takes a month of Sundays to get your stuff. Mind you it IS good, and they keep in touch just SLOW so plan accordingly |

I bought some 38mm hex bases in the quart from GF9, the first order that arrived had 130 bases in the container, the second order had 150 bases, althought the price was $15.00 USD for both, and add about $7.00 USD for shipping, its still a better deal than paying $19.99 USD plus shipping, for 100 and having to wait a month from Litko. The other thing is that the GF9 bases have a burned smell from being cut out and leave a black stain on your hands from the cut edges that wears off in a few days, other than that no complaints. |

I've always liked GF9's stuff. It's pricey but decent quality. I ordered bases from Litko but only once. Got the wrong stuff. Never got response to e-mail traffic asking for follow up or even just clarification on the order. Yes, I'm one of those guys that thinks you shouldn't have to call since other game companies manage to answer my e-mails. The order was under $30 USD so I'll consider it tution. Won't be ordering again. |

I have both and have ordered through a vendor rather then from the company (Litko) I am very pleased with the quality of the Litko product. I also think they are the only ones to make super thin bases I use on naval models. I also have purchased the Gale Force Nine products and love them as well. The buck deals at HMGS-East conventions is a great way to get handfulls at a great price. I just wish I could get one of them to make a good compass rose for me. VR James Mattes |

Black Bull – the pint and quart thing is just a way to package and "standardize" the process. In the recent past, GF9 began bringing buckets of these bases to conventions and selling them by "the handful." It proved very popular. Now they've moved to selling them in pint and quart containers. These are the containers normally used for Chinese Take Out here in the US. |

I have bought Litko and while the wait time is a bit of a drag if you plan for it, it's not too bad. I am leery about buying from GF9 since the shipping to Canada is exhorbitant. They want far more than the product I am buying is worth. That to me states they don't want to sell to me. That said however, if I can buy from them at a convention when I don't have to pay shipping or wait, I will do so. A friend has used their bases and he seems to like them. |

We've had great experience with Litko. It is true, sometimes they can be slow. So we plan ahead. But the quality is top notch and the one customer service issue I had was resolved in a way that made me very happy. I'd estimate we've done about $1,000 with of business with Litko, at least half of that in bases. |

What are the GF9 bases made of? Litko are in a variety of materials. I use their 3mm plywood |

G9 are masonite, Renn Ink is doing them as well and had them at the last couple of HMGS conventions and sold them out of buckets as well. They are masonite as well. Chris Parker ps I have all three makers products and like them all and yes Litko is very slow, they must cut to order :) |

I may grab some of the GF9 ones for any Perry figs I use (I found their pre-boxed stands not to my liking – good stands but in 28mm I base individually). How warp-resistant are they? M. |

@Cheomesh, I have a bunch of gf9 bases, mostly for single-based 28mm colonials (including lots of Perry figs) for TSATF. If you are buying sizes small enough for individual 28mm basing, I will venture to say you will never have a problem with warping. |

I started buying GF9 bases at HGMS cons..when they used to sell by the handful
I have large hands, now with either the pint or qrt I still buy them
love them and wouldnt use anything else |
