As well as considering starting in 15mm, I've also been wanting to get a large collection of mecha and smaller units for a Mekton campaign I've been working on. Some ideas I've come up with so far:

Em4s Steel Warriors line: Preferred scale, cheap, customizable, but only three chassis to choose from.

Battletech(Iron Wind Metals): Preferred scale, high quality, pricier for single units, not good for lots but still nice!

Mechwarrior (Clix): Larger than preferred scale, defunct so prices per unit are cheap, fair quality, easy access. The larger battle-armors might make great Roadstrikers

50 Cent Capsule Robots: Came across these in one of the toy/candy dispensers, picked up two and painted them up really nice after posing. Just the right scale, though hard to come by. Thought I saw a link for the bulk package here awhile ago.

Gashapon: Capsule toys from Japan, sometimes pricey, sometimes not. The size varies but they are generally larger than B-tech scale (I believe). Plenty of Gundam Gashapon. (On a side note I plan on picking up some Evangelion Gashapon for Kaiju gaming)

I currently have a few of Em4s Steel Warriors and the B-Tech Intro Box so I have some there. Though, most of the 'Mechs from the intro box aren't the style I'm looking for. I have a fair amount of Mechwarrior Clix but I'd have to retool some of the terrain I'm building but for diversity and the amount of units this may be my best bet even though the scale is larger. Suggestions?

not sure about these as there a bit more fantasy then sci-fi but I have the 3 different packs of Mecha Compendium figures from DP9. They are scaled to 15MM, so they would work right out of the box.

if you copy Mecha Compendium into my ebay store search engine you can se them there…

Some of the Battletech stuff looks really good trans-scaled to 15mm. Others not as much.

Also consider the GW Tau Stealth Suits. The body is just bulky enough for a 15mm pilot.

For an odd little gun-chicken, look at the small warjacks associated with the Dwarves of Warmachine. Two varieties.

The Bane Goliaths and Assault Goliaths from AT-43 are big enough to make decent Strikers in 15mm.

Also potentials striker scale from AT-43 are the Red Blok Kolossi and the White Star TAC-ARMS suits.

A few of the CAV striders are large enough, though fairly expensive.

Thanks for the offer, but they aren't the droids I'm looking for. ;)
I'm going for a future wasteland sci-fi feel, not fantasy. Thanks again though.

Oh, sorry guys, I meant I've also been considering starting up in 15mm, not that I want mecha that are 15mm. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm just trying to get enough mecha all in one scale for Mekton.

I went with MechWarrior clix. Partly because of the combined arms packaging, partly due to price.

Nexus produces some range of plastic figures called Steel Warriors, they're cheap enough that if they don't work out you can write the expense off. They seem reminiscent of the plastic Battletech figures from waaay back.

I do believe that the Nexus and EM4 mechs are the same sprues.

"mecha all in one scale"

A lot of mecha are pretty scale-vague, so don't feel you need to stick to a single source.

What kind of look are you chasing, Cilidar? If its a post-apoc. feel, I'd stay away from Gundam gashapon, for the most part. There were some great gashapon released for Front Mission which look chunky and 'modern', or how about the 1/35 MaK suits? Most have their hatches closed, (or can be closed), and a little detailing neatly re-scales them to a more 'Mektonny' size. I'm sure HLJ are still selling 'em off.

MaK models in 1/72 scale – what I would do for those!

Pick up a few of the Battletech starter boxes. 20 bucks or so, and you get a good pile of different plastic mechs
