Dear all,
I'm aware of the OOB of the Swedes at Lepizig, although numbers in Regiments and battalions seems to be harder to discover. However, although I know that there was some involvement of Swedish troops with Wallmoden's force in northern Germany, I can't find out which troops these were. I know that General Dobeln was releived, and was lucky to escape execution, for exceeding his brief in commiting his troops at Hamburg, but, again, I can't find out which troops these were, or how many of them there were.
I'd welcome any help on this.
Thanks

Chouan,

According to an old EEL [#98], Wallmoden's Swedish contingent consisted of Skanska Karabnier – 4 sqs., Morner's Hussars – 1 sq. [possibly more], harder to say about infantry but here goes – 1st Brigade – Smaland Regt. – 1 batt., Nord Schonen – 1 batt., Queen's Regt – 1 batt, Engelbrechtenska Regt. – 2 batts., Skanska Regt. – 2 batts., 2nd Brigade – Samland Regt. – 1 batt., Jonkoping Regt. – 3 batts., Nord Skanska – 1 batt., Queen's Regt. – 1 batt., 1 battery of 8 6 pdrs.

Hope this helps or at least sparks discussion. If you give me a few days – I can get more definitive info.

Cheers

I 'll get back to you on this – we have a bot of info on the Swedes

OOPS! In the 2nd Brigade – it should be Smaland Regt. – 1 batt. – sorry. I know you probably don't have it but if you can round up a copy of Julius Mankell's work on Swedish regts. [I've forgotten the title] he should have references down to the battalion strength of these units. I've got a copy lying around here somewhere.

Brilliant stuff! thanks very much everyone.

Hi Chouan,

Here is some more information on the Swedish organisation in general with battalion strengths, which allows you to put the above information in the proper context. I suspect the regiments in this link are the appropriate spellings.

I would appreciate seeing your final OB for Wallmoden's korps once completed.
