Does anyone have some comments on (or better yet, some photos of) Old Glory 15s Rank and File Russo-Turkish War range figures?

Mallen18 Aug 2009 5:23 a.m. PST

I painted some up a few year's back.

I'd call them a mixed bag. Some of the sculpts and poses are excellent, some not so much. For example, their Rumanian Dorobantz figure is very good, but the Russian command figures in the Furushka are pretty basic. The Russian Line figures in kepi are good solid figures, as are the Turkish in the zouave uniform.

The only cavalry figures I had were cossacks, which were fair.

You might have some luck at this site:

Thanks Mallen.

This is very helpful.

I'm debating what scale to do the period in. I've been doing a lot of 28s lately and was contemplating a change to 15s (in part to facilitate doing divisional to corps scale battles), but the eye candy coming from Outpost is mighty tempting.

I have the Russians figs – the line infantry are OK, I have the dragoons – they are OK figs, but they don't have a command set for the cavalry, which forces me to use my limited scratch-building skills

I used to sell a lot of the R&F in the 1980s and 1990s. I ahve always thought the packs in the range mixed well together.

If into 15mm look at Lancashire games, they redesigned their RTW range and the newer figs are great.

I am doing my RTW in 28mm with figures from Outpost, Askari , Perry and Old Glory..I know that Outpost have great plans for their range and it will be expanded to include Romanians etc
