Does anyone know if the "rib tape" applied over german lozenge camo was also applied to the edges of the wings? It seems logical to reinforce the seam where the upper and lower fabric meet but I can't find a clear picture that shows if this was done with the same tape as used over the ribs. My specific aircraft is an LVG CVI sporting 5-color camo. |

Dunno the answer for the LVG specifically --you might find help with a search of the forums at: theaerodrome.com/forum |

Check out the blogs at the Australian War Museum, they are currently restoring one of their German WW1 aircraft with lozenge pattern fabric. awm.gov.au |

Sometimes the lozenge camo itself was cut into rib tapes, on the LVG that was in the shuttleworth collection the leading edge is finished with a broad strip of lozenge in this way, for pic see the link
. link As Far as I know this aircraft has returned to the RAF Museum as a static display, it was previously the last original flight worthy WW1 built German aircraft and was in tip top flying condition a real shame
.. all the other flyers are replicas
I saw it once at shuttleworth unfortunatly it didnt fly that day

Pics here of an unrestored Halberstadt CV at Brussels shows the same camo tape for edges and rib tapes, the lozenge is also applied at an angle
