Osprey has a book for that. #219 – Queen Victoria's Enemies (3): India. Also, check Foundry web store for well painted minis.

And the old Foundry "Victoriana" catalog: selection of images which are the same as in the online store, but with brief notes.

Mostly grays, off whites, browns and tans. A bit of colour in sashes and turbans. Maliks and khans would have more colourful coats and pants.

Thanks guys. Picked up Queen Victorias Enemies #3 and North West Frontier 1837-1947 from Osprey.

In addition to the whites and off whites,
Afridis wore blue angarkas (a long, loose robe)
Waziris wore dark brick red or dark blue turbans and lungis (cloth worn as a sash, turban or over the shoulder)
The Bunerwals (subdivision of the Yusafzai) wore blue and black
Orakzais wore pearl gray robes, rather than white
Mohmands often wore faded blue turbans
Mamunds--another tribe that often wore blue angarkas
That should help to differentiate different tribes
